I have known of the value of having durable, leather guitar straps for years. I had an old Levy’s leather strap many moons ago before the endorsement, so I knew the name. When I finally made the decision to spend the money and buy a durable gigbag, I ultimately chose Levy’s.
My gigbags are extremely well-built and durable. The foam padding is fantastic and cradles the basses, and the stitching and zippers are heavy duty. The cases have taken a beating from me, and my LM19 still looks brand new; it’s almost three years old. The only thing I had to do with these bags was spray a couple of coats of leather waterproofer on them, but then again you should do that with ANY type of leather good you have.
As for the straps, they’re the best. They transfer the weight of the instrument from the shoulder area more toward the center of the back, allowing me to play longer with more comfort. Having a Warwick 6 string broadneck is a VERY heavy bass, and the Levy’s straps are saving my back (and eliminating the need for a chiropractor).
