Phil Jones Bass

I love these amps. Above all else, bringing in a Briefcase to a new venue and watch the soundman change from skeptical to fanatic is the best. But tonewise, these amps are brilliant. Very hi-fi sounding and true to the instrument being used, the Phil Jones Bass amps are an excellent choice when clarity is paramount. More than that, all of their amps and cabinets sound pretty much the same; the PJB sound is what you are going to get, no matter the amp/cab set up (how many manufacturers can you say that about?).

Because of this consistency, I use their Briefcase, Bass Cub, Bass Buddy preamp regularly, and when I have a “big” gig or am onstage, I’ll use the PJB Suitcase and 4B extension cab. They are very easy to use and dial in a beautiful sound.

Lastly, their customer service is top notch. I’ve had the opportunity to share emails with Phil Jones (yep, THAT Phil Jones) and Freda Jones, and it’s apparent how passionate they are about their products and the people that use it. I’m elated to be a member of the PJB endorsing artist family!
